Profile & Process
Embracing the role of the designer as confidant and advisor, Fearins | Welch Interior Design elaborates upon each client’s taste to create inventive layers of textures and finishes. Their projects continue to be inspired by balancing trends with influential interiors of the past, and sourcing a combination of antique, modern, and custom-built furniture, lighting and accessories.
F | W was set up in 2005 as an interiors department within CWB Architects by Erin Fearins and Ward Welch, an interior designer and an architect who both draw inspiration from their southern roots. Seeking a varied and non-dogmatic portfolio, the firm maintains an equally diverse design staff. Connecticut Yankee Amy Courtney adds just the right amount of quirkiness, while Cheryl Settino-Mosher balances the group with her years of experience in event styling and planning, plus a no-nonsense approach. The newest addition, Margaret Hu, delivers architectural expertise to the firm’s projects. The firm relies on its collective knowledge of antiques, color, and history of style, combined with a keen sense of architectural space and scale to create refined rooms for living, working, and playing.
